Artist Statement

The intent behind Broszeit’s art is to raise awareness surrounding Deaf children’s feelings of isolation and of being an outcast within their own homes. Only twenty-five percent (25%) of parents use sign language to communicate with their Deaf child*. This language barrier does not allow for fluid, in-depth conversations between Deaf children and their families. Deaf parents; however, are able to share detailed and extensive conversations with their Deaf child/ren.
